If you’re not very artistically inclined and you’d like to create a wall mural for your child’s bedroom where do you turn? Karlene decided to remodel nine year old Evie’s room for her birthday and with the help of older daughter Kylie was able to create a Spring Love Tree Wall Mural that needed nothing added to look fabulous in the room.
Karlene tells us she does not consider herself artsy at all and in fact is a professor of math and science education helping to teach future teachers. She felt paint and stencils would be beyond her comfort level so she decided she’d give wall decals a try. When she made the decision to remodel Evie’s bedroom she purchased a duvet cover from Australia called “The Secret Garden” with a large tree as the signature element. The floral tree wall mural she chose from our site helped to tie the room together. When Evie saw the wall decals online Karlene says her eyes just shone and she nodded “yes”. The day the package arrived from My Wonderful Walls, Evie was very excited and even helped to apply a few of the smaller elements. Mom says it took about an hour to hang the wall stickers with Kylie’s help just as they wanted them. She loves that she didn’t need to add anything else to the wall to make it look finished and has received many compliments on the room.
Karlene used vinyl wall stickers in the past and still remembers the sheer disappointment when one by one they began to peel and fall off her textured walls. But with the fabric wall decals she purchased from us, she was pleasantly surprised how well they stuck and are still stuck on! She feels a sense of pride that she could create something so amazing.
