We love seeing our wall mural stencils and wall stickers helping to make wonderful new nurseries and bedroom murals all across the globe. Recently, new father, Marius from Switzerland wrote to tell us about their family’s experience using our Jungle Safari Wall Stencils to create a nursery mural for their baby boy, David. Here is what he had to say:
My Wonderful Walls: Tell us a little bit about your family and who this mural is for.
Marius: We are an active family, who enjoy hiking in summer and snow sports in winter. We like to travel and explore new places. We are very creative but we kind of lack the skills (to create a mural). We wanted to design this nursery for our son David and the stencils were great as it was very easy to get creative with minimal skills. Mom, Anamaria did most of the work on the room.
MWW: Tell us a little bit about why you chose this theme and/or how is it a good fit for your child’s interests?
Marius: Actually, this is a good fit for the personality of the father. However, David already is enjoying the zebra and the giraffe. Even though he is just few months old, he really likes to stare at the animals, especially after a good feeding session. He mostly likes the animals with patterns, thus zebra, giraffe and the tiger are the favorites for now.
MWW: How long did it take you to complete the project?
Marius: Anamaria worked 2 hours a day for about a week, so about 14 hours.
MWW: What did you enjoy about the wall mural creation experience? Was it what you had expected?
Marius: The end result was much better than we initially expected. We enjoyed the flexibility of combining the colors and stencils.
MWW: Do you have any helpful tips for people who use our products?
Marius: We spent some time looking at the user gallery and this was very helpful before designing the final product. We got few good ideas from gallery which we implemented in our design. I would definitely recommend studying the gallery beforehand. We also used the how-to videos which were helpful. However the stencils were very easy to use. The videos helped on getting an idea how to create the background.
MWW: Tell us a little about your experience with the product and with the My Wonderful Walls folks in general.
Marius: The paint kit* was awesome and fit well the mural. Overall, the entire package was definitely worth it (stencils, paints and resources).
